Since 2003, Eastern Winds has mesmerized audiences with captivating live performances offering the dynamic sounds of music from India across various genres (movie songs, rock, pop and folk), styles and languages.

With impressive musical talent on roster and a reputation for well-orchestrated, high-quality stage performances, Eastern Winds' acclaim and reputation as one of the favorite music bands of the Indian diaspora in California and the United States is well earned .

Our Musical Journey

It all began in Silicon Valley in Spring 2003 when a few musically gifted amateurs gathered with the intention of forming a live Indian music band, wondering what to do next, pondering whether they should all drive back to their homes, and spend time more fruitfully.

In that first 'official' band meeting, Siva Sreeraman, our founder, a versatile vocalist and a music lover, needed to just spell out his vision of performing live music to entertain and encourage community causes, and everyone took the missing pieces, and assembled a band, eager to hone and showcase their talent.

The band's name, Eastern Winds, evokes a sense of both tradition and innovation, a perfect reflection of the band's musical journey. It's a nod to the rich cultural heritage of India, where ragas and rhythms have captivated hearts for centuries. Just as the wind breezes carry with them the fragrance of various lands, the band's music transports listeners to the vibrant tapestry of India's musical landscape.

The name was also chosen to signify the band's assimilation into the American music scene. Much like the winds, which know no boundaries, the band has embraced the diversity of American culture while staying true to their Indian roots, weaving together the threads of tradition and modernity, creating captivating sounds that are familiar, fresh, and resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Fast forward 21 years, Eastern Winds continues to perform together and enthrall Indian music lovers, leaving packed audiences spellbound with their impassioned musical execution, and proudly supporting various educational, developmental and socio-economical community causes in the United States and India over the years.

Looking back over our journey today, we're not surprised by the changes that have occurred, but by the constancy of the drive for music that keep us all together.
